What's the deal?

I went to rent a movie tonight for us all to watch as a family. Has anyone else noticed that all the cartoon movies are rated PG now? Whatever happened to G??

tracks

That's what SWEET little O from yesterdays post left on little Aider-baby's leg today. From her teeth. She's bit him before, but this was hard. He had a perfect little mouth mark on his leg ALL day. I freaked.

I'm not a big spanker, but she gets spanked for biting. And she got spanked today. And a time-out. I've had it with the biting.

Someone suggested to me to have her bite on something adversive (like a lemon or scrubby pad) after she bites. Any other suggestion?

Sweet goodnights...

Tonight after Ry gave Olivia her bath, I heard her heading down the stairs saying" I have to go and say goodnight to Mommy". I met her on the stairs and she gave me a big hug with a sweet, sloppy kiss. She said, "Good night Mommy, I love you, thank you for giving me the ice cream."

Sweet little monkey.

Just because he's cute...

Opposite Day

Today was opposite day. You know how I always get weird comments from people? (By the way, I haven't shared one from when I started back to work: I saw a client's parent on their first time back and she said, Wow, you lost weight! Yes...well, that happens!! Funny.) Well today I got truly nice comments. All day.

It was a little bizzare. I didn't do anything different, but I just got compliments all day. I was told I looked radiant, like I looked like I'd never had a baby, that my hair looked cute, and asked if I got a hair cut (that one was from my hubby he thought I looked so cute). :) It made me feel great! Thanks everyone!

Where do the weeks go?

Here's a few recent pictures:

Thanks for my new shirt Grammi! :)
Love his expression here!

Olivia and Grammi at the zoo.

It's been a busy week for us, although I feel like I couldn't tell you why. Sometimes just the ordinary things make you feel so busy. It's been good though! :) This past weekend we went to the Green Barn and bought our things for the garden. Olivia loved it, but was confused as to where the animals were... :) Monday and Tuesday I worked, busy but fine. Olivia crushed my heart Monday morning saying she just wanted us to stay home. :( Today was hotter and windier than all get-out. We went to the park this morning and for a walk, but we're hunkering down in the house this afternoon!!

Okay, I've settled.

I always post when I'm worked up. Can you tell?

I'm still a little worried (can you blame me?), but thank you all for all of your comments! They helped a lot! Also, I looked up Olivia's stats at 4 mos:
Weight: 13 lb. 0 oz. 45th percentile
Height: 23 1/2 in. 65th percentile

So a half a pound more weight and basically the same height. What's the deal with the percentiles? Can babies really be that different gender-wise at 4 months? I really don't think so. I'm chilling out today. :)

seriously teeny peanut

Okay, so I knew my little man was truly little. But this little?

I brought him for his 4 month appointment today and he has dropped on the charts.
Weight: 12 lb. 8 oz. 6th percentile
Height: 23 1/5 in. 8th percentile
Head: 15 1/4 in. 1st percentile.

At his 2 month appointment he was in the 20th percentiles.

His wonderful doctor isn't worried (I wish I could have as much UNconcern). She said it's time to start cereal (mixed with juice because he needs all the calories he can get). She talked a lot about how much he IS thriving--he smiles, coos, laughs, rolls both ways, holds on to things, reaches for things, is happy and content. He gets plenty of milk. He's just little. She said we will just watch him over time and if things continue to go down percentile wise we will need to look into things. But she isn't concerned.

I can't help but be a little worried. I tried giving him cereal today but he so isn't ready for it. He just thrust it back out with his tongue. I will keep trying everyday though.

Please pray he's just a little man! :)

Date night!

Friday night Ryan and I were blessed with a date! We went down to our friend, Erick's, restaurant in Minneapolis, Victory 44. When we got there, Erick seated us near the kitchen and said, "Is there anything you don't like?" We're not too picky, so we said no. Erick proceeded to bring us 6 courses of different things to share and try. They were all SO delicious and amazing!

You should try out the restaurant if you haven't been there already!

The best day ever!

I don't know about you, but I had the BEST Mother's day ever! I have been feeling overwhelmed and tired out by my daily duties lately. Just stuck in a rut! All I wanted for mother's day was to not have to do everything that I usually have to do...and for a little R & R. That's what I got!

First, I got to sleep in (well, until 7:30 when the phone rang!) and then Ryan made breakfast for us. Sausage & eggs = yum! After breakfast and feeding Aidan (I do have to do some things...) Ryan took the kids for a walk outside so I could enjoy a bath all by myself. One of my favorite things to do is to read books while I'm in the tub (quite an image, isn't it?). I'm currently reading Middlesex (Oprah's book club, very interesting) and enjoyed a few pages in the tub! Next, of course, church. Our Pastor gave a great tribute to mothers talking about how much we sacrifice, including our passions and personality to be mothers (even though our kids become our passions!). It was beautiful.

After church Ryan's parents surprised me and Ryan's Grandma for lunch at the Pine Brook. It was delicious. Ryan then put Olivia down for her nap for me (yes!) and my mom came over so Ry and I could go grocery shopping. Ryan carried in and put away all the groceries (that gets so old). My dad joined all of us for dinner. What a great day!

Oh, and I didn't have to change diapers all day! Except for one while I was feeding Aidan in the nursery during church...I figured I didn't need to go get Ryan to change that one. The bummer was that neither kid pooped all day...they saved it up for Monday morning when they both exploded. :)

What a wonderful day!

Reservations

I had reservations about naming him Aidan. We had Aidan picked out when I was pregnant with Olivia if she were to have been a boy. I loved the name, but this time I wasn't so set on it. I came up with another name (no I won't tell you, in case we have more, in case the next is a boy!) around 7 1/2 mos. prego that I L.O.V.E.D. Really loved. Ryan still L.O.V.E.D. Aidan.

As we drove to the hospital to be induced the morning he was born, I knew in my heart he would be a boy. This happened when we headed in with Olivia too. And it's funny because I knew at the same point in our drive; right when we passed Ryan's work. Funny. I said to Ryan, "I just know it's a boy. If I'm right, which name do you want?" He said, without reservation, Aidan. I was just fine with it.

My only reservations were that it had been SUCH a popular name, hitting number one on the charts last year. I am happy to say that this year, Aidan is not even in the top 10! :) Goodbye reservations, Welcome little Aider man!

What a few days...

I had a migraine from Saturday through Tuesday. Gross. I hadn't had a migraine since before I was pg with Olivia! That's a LONG time! I was so bummed to get a migraine again. I see the doc on Friday and hopefully we'll figure it out. Cross your fingers it was a one time thing!!

Potty training is a bust. :) I've been trying to encourage Olivia to use the potty, but she just doesn't want to do it yet. Thanks for all of your advice! She will tell me when she is giong potty and wants to sit on it every once in a while (but not go)...she has also had a few times from nap and in the morning when she wakes up dry. At least she's getting ready. I'm at least hoping that by the end of summer she'll be trained.

Aidan's great, sleeping better the last 2 nights...I'm always hoping it's starting a new trend of sleeping better. :) We'll see what tonight brings!!
