I had reservations about naming him Aidan. We had Aidan picked out when I was pregnant with Olivia if she were to have been a boy. I loved the name, but this time I wasn't so set on it. I came up with another name (no I won't tell you, in case we have more, in case the next is a boy!) around 7 1/2 mos. prego that I L.O.V.E.D. Really loved. Ryan still L.O.V.E.D. Aidan.
As we drove to the hospital to be induced the morning he was born, I knew in my heart he would be a boy. This happened when we headed in with Olivia too. And it's funny because I knew at the same point in our drive; right when we passed Ryan's work. Funny. I said to Ryan, "I just know it's a boy. If I'm right, which name do you want?" He said, without reservation, Aidan. I was just fine with it.
My only reservations were that it had been SUCH a popular name, hitting number one on the charts last year. I am happy to say that this year, Aidan is not even in the top 10! :) Goodbye reservations, Welcome little Aider man!

It's a great name. And I'm sure he'll stand out in comparison to all those other Aidan's out there!
Oh, I love his name. I know what you mean about having reservations about such a popular name...but, it fits him so well! Plus, I love that his initials spell out ART :)
I've always wondered if people use names they considered for their first on their second child. My mom didn't use "my" boy name on my younger brother, and I've never gotten a good explanation about that. And I got the name she had picked out when she was in high school. It seems like such a huge decision, but so frequently I hear stories like yours--already in labor, fast and final decision. I love the name Aiden. It sounds like an angelic name, and he certainly is angelic!
