Yesterday afternoon my mother in law took Olivia for a few hours and I got to spend some quality one on one time with my little man. Of course that included a photo shoot! I just think he's so stinkin' cute...of course I'm biased, but I just love this little man!

(I even rotated it and everything...I'm just not sure why it's still sideways!...whatever!!)

Wordless Wednesday (early!)

The way it's supposed to be...

Last night as we were driving home from Ryan's Grandma's house, I was sitting in the backseat with my munchkins. Aidan was holding a finger on my right hand and Olivia was holding my left hand. They were both peaceful.

This is the way it's supposed to be. :)

A funny too:
As we were driving earlier in the day yesterday, Olivia says, "Mama the sun is in my eyes." I said, I know, I'm sorry. She says, "Mama, turn off the sun." :) She thinks I hung the moon. :)

Oh crabbiness.

I've become crabby today.

I had a wonderful morning! Then Olivia woke from her nap after only 30 min. from coughing, was sweating, warm, and crabby. I decided a trip to the dr was necessary being that she had been exposed to strep this weekend. Packed up the kids for our first trip out all by ourselves and headed into the clinic--luckily Olivia was able to get in with her doctor and right away! Amazing! 2 hours at the clinic and a crabby kid later, but thankfully no strep. After we got home Olivia was a BEAR. Into everything, throwing things, hitting, yelling, you name it. I totally lost it with her. Lots of time outs later, she's now watching a video just so I don't freak out. Ryan is gone all evening at church, so not only were we on our own all day, but all evening too. Pray for a smooth bedtime, a good nights sleep, and a great day tomorrow!

A week in review...

Wednesday I was alone almost all day with the 2 kids. It went very smoothly! I even got (get this!) 8 loads of laundry done and folded!! I know, I know... 8 loads? I hadn't done any since we had been in the hospital! I also got us packed to go up north and the house picked up. Success!

Thursday we headed up north to Ryan's parents for an extended weekend (Ryan joined us Friday). Aidan slept then entire 3 hour trip, besides lunch at McD's for his big sister. Olivia can't reach him in his carseat so it's smooth sailing traveling so far!!

Friday morning Olivia decided to grace me with her wide awake presence at 4:30 am. Thank you sweetie, I was so happy to see you! :) Thankfully we were with family so I had a ton of help and was able to rest too!

Olivia played endlessly with her cousins all weekend. Unfortunately her cousin, Maren, ended up with strep throat...hopefully Livi doesn't get it...all she has so far is a cold. As far as I know, babies can't get strep so we should be good to go with Aidan.

Aidan slept 5 hours last night! Yes! He's been typically going a good 4 hour stretch, but 5 hours last night was pure bliss (even though I was up with Livi earlier due to her cold).

We're back home this afternoon and enjoying being back in our routine. We haven't had any days that were totally JUST US (not that today counts b/c we were traveling) and I am excited to get in our routine!!

Aidan's Birth Story

I know you have all been waiting for this!

The plan was for me to go in on Tuesday morning to be induced by Susan; of course I had to call in the morning to make sure they still had a spot for me. Unexpectedly, I was awaken at 5:55 by the phone ringing. It was the hospital calling to say they couldn't take me, no nurses available. I was CRUSHED. I managed to keep my composure, even after the nurse said to me, Well I guess now you can sleep in!! Really, you think I could after that news?? Instead I laid in bed and cried. :) For 10 min.....until they called back to say they had an extra nurse come in! And the nurse I talked to before said, IF you still want to come. Really, you think I don't want to anymore? Oh people... :)

So in we went! Susan was surprised to see us as they had been telling her all the night before that we wouldn't be able to come. We started my pitocin at 9:00 am, walked the halls in absolutely NO pain for almost 2 1/2 hours. Nothing... Finally around Noon things started getting stronger. Susan broke my water at 1:15...then things started cracking!! When she broke my water, I was still only dialated to a 3.5. Things started getting much stronger, and much more painful (I guess that's the point, right!). I tried the birthing ball, the tub, and various other positions for the next 3 hours until I couldn't take it anymore...time for the epidural! I was pain free by 4:20 when she checked me again and I was at a 9.5! They got everything ready and by 4:35 I was ready to push! Because everything was going so well, Susan let Ryan help deliver. He was thrilled!!

Aidan was born at 5:05 pm. Happy and healthy! Delivery went so wonderful. I couldn't have asked for anything more. Susan was amazing--I know I don't have to tell all of you who have had her!! She totally redeemed my faith in pregnancy and childbirth...I might be able to do it again. :) Not that we're making any decisions...

Note to self...

Alternately titled: Mistake #1 w/2 kids

Don't try to put Olivia down for a nap when Aidan is awake. Aidan will cry and I will have to turn my attention and getting her put down for her nap will take nearly 2 hours. Let's not do that tomorrow.

The good news: I survived it! Unscathed!

Baby's Here!!!

This is Bridgit posting for Ehlan! I am the lucky one who gets to share her and Ryan's exciting news! They had a baby BOY!!! She was induced this morning (my times are VERY approximate as I talked to Ehlan very briefly on my cell phone while driving and trying to talk to my husband as well) around 9:30, and had the little squirt sometime around 5pm. Mom and baby are doing great!
His name is Aiden Ryan (hopefully I have spelling right?), and he weighed 7 lbs 10oz and is 19 inches long. When I talked to Ehlan, Olivia was on her way to see him, so Ehlan will have to post all the details about how much big sissy loves her little brother!!

The end is near...

I had my appt. this morning and I am officially being induced tomorrow--unless I still go today!!

Hooray! Alicia, don't worry, nothing is wrong with me or baby, we're just getting this thing done with! I'm ready!

Pray that I still go today; that would be the best, otherwise prayers tomorrow would be awesome! My spirits are high today!!

...still pregnant...

I'm not going to church this morning because I don't want to talk to everyone about how I'm STILL pregnant.

Maybe it's not so bad...

I mean, look at how productive I can be!

For the freezer:

3 containers of chili

2 containers of spaghetti sauce

3 lbs. browned hamburger

1 more HUGE crock of soup (not pictured)

And my mom came over and we organized my closet. I guess being pregnant still has it's perks. (Don't listen to that baby; you are still welcome to come out, like yesterday!!)

I survived "D-day" yesterday! Talked with Susan this morning and she said that if I haven't had the baby by Monday morning, that most likely we will be able to move my induction up to Tuesday. Hooray! That gives me hope! She also said that she is sure I'm going to go before then anyway so it won't matter...I sure hope she's right!!

Here's a smile for the day-- This was Olivia's bath on Christmas Day; Ryan made it extra special for her. She said-- Oh, I like bubbles! :)

Thank you lilypie ticker, for reminding me that I am 40 wks. pregnant today. :)
