She can't yet write her name...

Alternately titled: Other things I feel inadequate about...
Alternately titled: Remember that post about "Mom pressure"?

It's one of those days... I just feel inadequate in my magical Mommy abilities. I don't feed my kids enough fruits and vegetables...and they get too much sugar. They watch more TV in the winter months. Does Olivia go to the right preschool? Why don't I sit and write with her more so she was proficient in writing her name? What can I do differently to help them grow to be smart, successful, and happy?

Why am I on the computer and not playing with them?

Is it really all up to me? (And, of course, by me, I mean us...my hubby counts in all this too, it's just one of those days feeling crummy about me...)

I'll feel better soon... just needed to vent my feelings today. Maybe it also has to do with January in Minnesota, the sickness of snow, and the lack of sunshine...

Neither can Sofie. Oh, well. They'll get it when they need to. I promise that Olivia will not get out of high school and enter the great big world without writing her name. :)

We're taking a parenting class right now reminding us that our goal as parents isn't just to make sure our children are successful or happy. Our goal is to help them be holy. (Effective Parenting in a Defective World by Chip Ingram--it's great!!!) Are you praying with your kids? Do you try to live out YOUR faith? Do you discipline and correct them so that they will know boundaries and what right from wrong is? I know you do all those things, so I think you're doing a good job, from an eternal perspective. :)

Hugs from another inadequate mom. ;)

She'll get there! No worries right now - she's got almost two years to get it down! :)

Just remember that your kids will always be thankful for a happy mommy -- a mommy that doesn't expect perfection from herself or her children, but gives praise for doing your best!

... I do think it has something to do with Minnesota Winters. They will be the #1 hardest thing about us moving back! Keep your chin up!!
