Just barely...but we are alive!
Oy, it has been "day" upon "day" in our household...let me give you a little rundown!
Last Thursday am: Aidan began barfing/pooping/crabbing. Continued all day. Horrible sleep at night.
Friday: more of the same. Ryan left for BWCA. Took Aid to Dr. to make sure no ear infection...all good. Horrible sleep at night.
Saturday: No more barfing/pooping...just crabbing. Got out of the house and went shopping with my mom...the kids were soooo crabby. Usually they love shopping...not this day. Horrible sleep at night.
Sunday: Church w/the kids--went well. After church? Not so well. Aidan began a 3 hour screaming marathon which ended abruptly when I FINALLY decided I couldn't take it anymore and put him in the carseat to head over to my parents. (if I knew that's all it would take...) Within minutes of being at my parents house, Aidan broke out into a rash/welts/hive/things all over his legs. Worried about an allergic reaction, I headed in to the ER/Same day clinic to get him checked out. Of course, by the time we got there...they were all gone. Ryan came home...still horrible sleep at night.
Monday: State Fair! Kids were great, had a wonderful time! YAY! No nap for Olivia, but she survived. After we got home I needed to go to the grocery store...on the way into town, the migraine train struck. This is migraine #2 since before being pg with Olivia...they have been doosies! Went to bed at 7:30...Aidan slept horrible still. Fed him in between barfing... :) Nice, huh?
Tuesday: Miserable migraine day. My wonderful mom came over and helped me the majority of the day. It was a lifesaver. Aidan broke out into welts/hives/whatever's again...this time on arms, legs, and face. Aidan deciding that he doesn't want to nurse?? Refusing the boob much of the day, but nursed a couple times...I don't get it... Went to bed at 8...Aidan? Still not sleeping good.
Wednesday: Migraine hangover day. This afternoon we have an appt. with the kids' doctor to find out what's the deal with Aid's reactions. Hopefully the pics we took while he broke out yesterday will help her.
What we really need?? Sleep!!! Aid has been getting up 3-4x every night and up by 5:15-5:30, and not napping well during the day. Today he finally slept until 6:30...but of course Olivia woke up at 5:30!! Lack of sleep has prolonged all of our difficulties.

Oh man, you guys! That's a long couple of days filled with a lot of yuckiness. I hope you get some answers from the doctor today and also that you can all get SLEEP. It's amazing what a little good sleep can do.
I'm so sorry! Having kids the ages of your kids can be so overwhelming sometimes (or most of the time, as it was for me!). Between the lack of sleep, meltdowns, crying, strange health occurances and the like, you wonder if you will actually survive the day, the week, the year. But you will! And it DOES get better, if that is any consolation. And after you go through so many strange weird things and both of your kids can talk and communicate, you begin to decifer when to shrug them off and when to head to the doctor (because frankly, hospital/doctor visits are exhausting in themselves!). Best wishes for a good finish to this week. I feel for ya! What do you think the welt things were, BTW? I react like that to dogs/cats sometimes...do you think it could have been that?
Yes Sarah! His doc thinks it most likely is a cat allergy or else just hives related to him being sick anyway. Good to know you get like that from animals too (not for you but for me to catalog in my mind!!).
Thanks you guys!
Well, fortunately cat hives just itch, they don't cause any other harm. Did the doctor tell you to watch for other reactions to the cat (asthma, etc)?
SO SORRY!! :( It all sounds so terrible, but it is always amazing when you survive times like this right? Oh, and thank goodness for helpful parents!! I'm so glad your mom could be there for you!!
