For those of you who don't know, and just to remind those of you who do, my husband is an avid hunter. AVID just may be an understatement. He loves archery hunting for deer. He and his buddy, Sam, even make hunting videos. Serious hunting videos. Of course, since he is such a wonderful hunter, he loves to proudly to display his trophies. Oh the trophies. So, here is a picture of our newest arrival:
And here's our basement...
Don't they look pretty with my curtains? (And no my basement is not usually so messy, we've had company.)

Remind me to never sleep in your basement--I'd feel "watched." :) And I really think that this is an appropriate opportunity to include a link to Ryan's website where you can buy his hunting videos (or maybe Dave should add this feature to the biz website!). :)
WOW, tell Ryan very nice. I don't even know where to hang mine when it finally gets done.
I am totally impressed that you not only are ok with these things hanging in your basement, but you take pictures of them! =) GOOD JOB!!
Ok I too would be a little freaked out with those eyes watching me all the time! I am thankful scott just "likes" hunting...no obsession there! So therefor no need for heads/mounts anywhere either! To each thier own right?!!!!!
If they had a website, it would be on here! Maybe I'll have to figure out a way to get a clip on...hmmm...
As for being okay with them, I am just thankful they are ONLY in the basement and not upstairs. What will I do when we run out of wall space down here?
..just what I was thinking. What is Ryan going to do when the deer are neck to neck?
And, BTW, any tips that I have for you and naps...or bedtime is in the Babywise book. I got it before Julia was born and I don't know how we would do it without the structure of Babywise.
Ok so this might just be my first comment on your blog. Thanks for visiting ours.
I think it is great you agree to let your husband hang the deer in the house. I married a hunter and I will NOT allow that. Not until our house is bigger and the deer mounts can go in their own secret room. How mean am I? Love the curtains.
My little Coulter is not walking yet--close.
AND I like Tiff (she hooked me) love the BAbywise book. Naps and all. SERIOuSLY!
Aw, this is one of those "only in Minnesota" posts. You're the best. And as much as hunting scares me, Ryan's videos are pretty awesome. Josh still talks about the bear...
i could never live with those things! I have told my husband, NO TROPHIES!
he enjoys archery as well :)
My dad wishes their house would look like this! Tim wants to hunt, but never has the right weekends off or the motivation to go....which makes it nice for me!
I better tell my husband what a SAINT of a wife I am.
