So I took Olivia to the Dr. today because I thought she had an ear infection. Why you ask? Well, if you remember back (Signs & Symptoms) Olivia does not show the classic signs of an ear infection. I've had to get creative with my diagnoses.
I told the Dr., "Well, she has been eating a TON and she is crabby when she wakes up from her naps...so I think she has an ear infection." She tried not to laugh at me, but I could tell she thought I was a little wacky. I explained O's history and I think she thought I was a little less wacky. But then she checked O's ears...SURE ENOUGH! She's got an ear infection. It is in the same ear as before, so it may be residual...but here goes another round of antibiotics.
Poor little Oli! On another note...I think I may be psychic.

Nice diagnositic work! Doctors need to learn to trust mommies b/c most of us have our little ones figured out! I took Sofie and Annika in w/o any of the classic symptoms, also, so it almost feels good (not that we are ever glad when our little ones are sick, of course) when we find out we are right!!!
Exactly!!
I've learned to ALWAYS trust my instincts when it comes to my kids, and am always glad to hear that someone is doing the same. No one knows the idiosyncrasies of your kids like you do...trust in that and you'll go far!
Incidentally, or not so incidentally, I love Olivia's name. We considered that for our daughter, but settled on a family name. If there's another girl on the horizon, she could very well be an Olivia. LOVE that name!
Way to go Mommy. Maybe I'll just post pics of my children when I think something might be wrong and you tell me what it is. I think everyone is nursed back to good health as of today. Twins for sure, Julia...maybe, and me...I think so.
