Jinx!

So, as I was thinking about what I wanted to write about today I started getting concerned! You're going to laugh, but--I feel like when I write about something that is going well I jinx myself and then it doesn't go well anymore! :) So for today's entry, I am going to try a little reverse psychology!

We are NEVER going to fall into a routine! This week has been HORRIBLE! No schedule at all! Nap times haven't been happening at the same time, crabby baby, no developmental changes. NOTHING.

:) Of course it's all the opposite of what's written above! Great week, good schedule, same nap times, happy baby, sitting up & babbling. GOOD STUFF! :) I hope I'm not JINXED!

"Great First Day!"

(Ry has had our computer at work all week, so I haven't been able to post)

Olivia went to daycare for the first time on Monday--Leah, our daycare person, sends home slips every day about how and what they did. She wrote "Great First Day!". Hoo rah Olivia! She took a nap, ate, and played with the kids. She absolutely loved it! I was so thankful. She goes again today for her second day--I hope it will go as well as the first did.

She is also sitting up all on her own--big girl! She just loves it, a new perspective, and a great way to play with toys! I'll post pics this weekend.

Something new!

This morning when I laid Olivia down for her nap in her crib she opened her eyes. NOT NEW! But, then she put herself back to sleep! NEW! She usually is awake until she is put back to sleep, so good job O! For this I am thankful!!

Hi Ho Cheerio!

Rice cereal certainly isn't cheerios, but Olivia sure loved it! She opened her mouth for the first bite and didn't stop until nearly the whole bowl was empty! I think she probably had more ON herself than IN herself, but she LOVED it! :) Here's some pics!

Thankful for today!

I need to try and be thankful for today, each and every day. Today we're at 2 hours and going strong for O's nap!

Thanks for the great nap today! And if tomorrow isn't the same, I'll be thankful for our time together!

Busy, busy, busy...

Wow, we have been busy! Olivia is much better! We went to the Dr. and no ear infection...I think it is more or less the starting of teething. Even though she does not have a cold or anything anymore, she is still just not quite herself some of the time...a bit more fussy! Don't worry Bridgit, I don't think it's your fault! :)

We spent the weekend up north with our friend's Sam & Laura's youth group...so much fun and such a blessing to hang out with such a great group of kids...seeing our friends didn't hurt much either! Olivia had fun being with all of the kids and of course seeing her cousins. Sarah, if you read this, sorry we didn't stop by but Olivia had that runny nose and I didn't want to infect your kidlets! :) Maybe sometime before Christmas! ;)

Today Olivia and I went and visited Leah, who will be doing daycare for Olivia 2 days a week. We needed care for sure for Monday mornings and after talking with Grampy, decided to add another day so he can expand his business. Plus then we won't feel so guilty calling on Grammy & Grampy for some Mommy & Daddy time!! Leah seems wonderful--she had her Master's degree which is amazing for someone who just does daycare!--she has a wonderful home that is very kid friendly, 3 great boys of her own, and then only 2 more kids on daycare. She will only take 2 more also so it's great! And 2 of her boys will be in school this year so they won't be at home either. I'm still, of course, a little nervous, but I think it will be fantastic.

Olivia got weighed today at her class- 13 lb. 11 1/2 oz. She's such a peanut compared to her other little friends! We're going to start her on cereal today! Hope it goes well!!

Ah-ha!

Well, I've figured out the nap-snatching culprit from yesterday! Miss O is not feeling well! She started with watery eyes and a runny nose yesterday; thought she was running a fever but temp was normal. She was coughing a bit during the night, but still slept well. This morning she was tugging on her ears...poor babe! I took her into the clinic and no ear infection, just have to watch her. But she's not a very happy little babe today! So, at least I know there was something going on with her napping yesterday and she wasn't just being a stinker! :) Say a little prayer for Miss O that she feels better! Thanks!

12:57...awake.
1:00...asleep, only because Mommy is holding her.

Now it's 1:22 and she's laying down again. PLEASE SLEEP little peanut!

There I go bragging again...

Ugh. So, nap time today? Not so successful. It is 12:14...we've been in nap-time process since 10:14. Here's the lowdown:

10:14...Fell fast asleep, super easy!
10:52...Mommy decides to check on Olivia since she can't hear her as well with the white noise. She's OF COURSE wide awake...who knows for how long.
11:10...done eating and still very tired...Mommy rocks her for WAY too long and her eyes never close.
11:40...give up, downstairs to play and hopefully tire enough to go to sleep!
11:47...What is that smell? OH poop. Wonder how long that has been there? Super smelly, so probably not too long...but definately a reason not to sleep!
12:00...crying, crying, crying...so TIRED!
12:10...OUT. The question is for how long?

Time away!

Last weekend we spent our first night away from Olivia. It went so well and I was so thankful to be able to have that time. We spent most of Saturday, Saturday night, and Sunday away from here. It was so convenient because we were only 10 minutes away from my parents where she was staying so I could nurse her a couple of times.

I was nervous, but I did very well! I slept great and enjoyed sleeping in tremendously. The best part was that Olivia did wonderfully as well! She even slept a little longer in the morning for her Grammy and Grampy than she usually does for her Mommy! :) Nice! Thanks to G & G for letting us have a little R & R!

Naptastic!

Yesterday Olivia took two 1 1/2 hour naps! That is amazing! I attribute it to the new fan we bought for her room to create some "white noise". On Monday we were at Bridgit's and she took a 2 1/2 hour nap...last time we were there she took a 2 hour nap, So I figured out that Bridgit had white noise going for her and decided to try it at our house. Hope it's not a fluke!
